Aviation First Aid

The objectives of aviation first aid training are to enable the crew member to assess a situation and condition by observing the signs, symptoms and where possible by eliciting any applicable medical history of the casualty.

To make a diagnosis on the information they have collated, to administer appropriate treatment immediately and to maintain treatment of the casualty until professional medical help takes over.

To give the crew member the confidence and ability to preserve life, prevent a condition worsening and to promote recovery.

The objectives are realised through a combination of lectures, case studies, discussions and practical hands on training.
